Airport taxi kiosks online soon

The Airports of Thailand will launch taxi queue-management kiosks at the end of this month.

The 10 kiosks that were set up at Gate 4 and Gate 7 on the first floor of Suvarnabhumi airport in July are now being tested.

AoT invested about 23 million baht for the kiosks to replace the present manual system, where staff write down a passengers' destination before handing it to a taxi driver. With the kiosks, passengers can choose their destination and hand the printed paper to a taxi driver in the queue. AoT expected the kiosks will shorten service time.

After the computerised kiosks are operational, passengers will enter taxi booths, select their preferred vehicle and go to the waiting taxi's location as directed by the kiosk.
