Belgium adjourns talks without accord on EU-Canada trade deal: Reynders

BRUSSELS - Belgium's political leaders adjourned talks late Wednesday without reaching an agreement on whether to support a landmark EU-Canada trade agreement, Foreign Minister Didier Reynders said.

Flemish Minister-President of Belgium's Flemish region Geert Bourgeois (C) arrives to attend an emergency meeting of all Belgium federal entities on the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement in Brussels on October 26, 2016

The marathon negotiations will resume on Thursday, Reynders said. He had earlier reported the sides were near a consensus toward breaking the deadlock that has blocked the trade deal.
