Anger and passion or perhaps angry passion can lead even normally non-confrontational people down the path of ballistic violence. Can even happen in Thailand where an angry mob beats to death a person before they even understand his rationale.

I refer to a case where a mentally ill Thai man broke an Erawan (corner of Erawan Hyatt, Sukhumwit) and a mob killed him. That was someones brother, father, uncle or cousin, someone that could have simply missed his medication dose that day.

Question for all to ponder: “Freedom of Expression”,a noble ideal, as defined in US Constitution gives the American the rights, even so far as to infringe on other people’s (non-American) core values and believes. Please vote “UP” if you agree with this statement.

In Iran , Saudi , Iraq , Afghanistan or Pakistan they would be locked up or shot by now.

Amusing to see the earlier photos of women mixing with men. In Saudi or Afghanistan that's punishable by death in the name of their religion. Did someone pull that picture ?

IMO Islam is an old boys club controlled by bitter old men who keep creating new and more outrageous rules.

No offense to muslims, but it is the action of an individual not the country. You can't hold a country responsible and start hurting their citizens. Which country should take responsibility for Al Qaeda and other muslim terrorist organizations? Should those muslim countries apologize too?

Khun Jacksprat #30, don't you think that Marxism is just another religious belief? We, human beings, have to believe in something, haven't we?

I really think that is a poor analogy. You are comparing politics with religion. No one has right to burn and kill.

Why drag the Thai reds or yellows into this I'm sorry I dont see the analogy, m I missing something here?

"I would expect and hope that Thais would become violent if the kingdom were to be attacked and occupied by a foreign power, and not just demonstrate peaceably." Just like in December 1941.

Why are these rioters, because that is what they are, allowed to get away with it,Is it because the authorities do not want to get too involved less they inflame them more.If I were to burn a Thai flag my feet would not touch the ground.I find it impossible to think how these people fit into a civilized society they demonstrate animal instincts and the worst kind at that, Jackal springs to mind.

"Karl Marx has said Religion is like opium for the people... Think about!" And he wanted to replace it with his religion-subtitute, communism, which was just as dogmatic and intolerant of other forms.

Why should the US government take responsibilty for something it had absolutely nothing to do with? Its like asking the governments of Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen etc to apologize and take responsibilty for the activities of Al Quaida and the Taliban. Mindless hypocracy.
