Chelsea interim boss Rafael Benitez

Rafael Benitez started life as Chelsea's interim first team manager on Thursday after the European champions sacked Roberto di Matteo, amid sympathy for the Italian and speculation about his permanent replacement.

The former Liverpool boss was getting to know the Blues squad at their Cobham training ground, south of London, before facing the media at Stamford Bridge at 1730 GMT.
