A survey of over 20,000 people in the US reveals most want an iPad and that, after brand name, cellular connectivity was the most important factor influencing purchase.

Mobile video and media company Vuclip polled the opinions of 20,435 US consumers and discovered that the tablet is the gift most people will buy for themselves this holiday season -- 57 percent said that they intended to make a purchase before December 25 and of that group, only 12 percent of men and 15 percent of women said that the recipient would be a friend. Husbands, wives and partners hoping for a tablet this holiday season will also be disappointed. Only 6 percent of men and 10 percent of women surveyed said that they would be buying one for their significant other.
