As coffee giant Starbucks opened its 100th store in Beijing this week, the company also unveiled its ambitious plans to make China its second largest market outside the US by 2014.

Along with India, the ubiquitous green and white coffee chain has set its sights on the burgeoning Chinese economy, where the appetite for premium Western brands continues to grow unabated.
