Soldiers try to retake key C. African city from rebels

Central African government soldiers battled Friday to retake the central rebel-held city of Bambari, a military official said.

"Elements of the Central African Armed Forces attacked Bambari to try to retake it," the official said, adding: "The fighting was especially violent. We don't know yet who is controlling the city."

    First smart move made by my home country,the U.S., in many years. The move
    however shouldn't be "temporary" as I hope they never go back nor should they
    send any, ( more ), troops,arms, food,money, etc., which would all be a waste.
    Billions upon billions of global dollars have been spent, lives lost, (just
    this last week 10 or 12 foreign aid givers were killed),all for naught. Africa,
    I think and regret to say, is not salvageable except to those nations that hunger for their mineral riches.
