Gas-pistol attack on Bulgarian politician foiled

Bulgaria's veteran Turkish minority party leader Ahmed Dogan resigned as expected, but not before he foiled a dramatic attack by a man armed with a gas pistol at his party's national conference in Sofia.

A video grab from Bulgarian television channel BTV shows a man pointing a gas pistol at veteran Turkish minority party leader Ahmed Dogan on January 19, 2013. Dogan was addressing his party's national conference in Sofia at the time.

Dogan was addressing delegates of his Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) party when a tall man in black leapt onto the stage, rushed to his podium and pointed the non-lethal weapon at his head, video footage showed.

rva Disc.1: FYI, probably some airsoft gun, what they call a 'BB gun' in Thailand (it's also sold in many toys stalls here), looks like the real gun it's copied from (but not made of the same strong materials), holds a tiny gas tank or CO2 capsule, the gas propels ultra light (mostly 0.20g.) 6mm. diameter plastic balls through a smooth barrel, with very low energy, and short accurate range.
