Microsoft reported that its profit dipped in the final three months of last year despite revenues boosted by the release of new-generation Windows software tailored for the world of smartphones and tablet computers.

    Microsoft made a big mistake by not offering an optional interface on Windows 8 that allows it to look like and be used exactly like Windows 7 and every other version going back to 1995. After 17 years of clicking the lower left corner who wants to learn something completely new, and there is no reason for touch tablets and PC's to use the exact same software.
