Govt, BRN ink peace talks pact

NSC chief, Malaysia PM credit Thaksin with deal

The government will begin peace talks with the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) separatists within two weeks, National Security Council (NSC) secretary-general Paradorn Pattanatabut says.

Mr Paradorn said he would hold bi-weekly talks with BRN representatives at all levels to hear out their demands.

He said Malaysia would facilitate the talks, and would help invite key members from the separatist movement to the negotiating table.
