Lion Air to buy 200 Airbus jets

PARIS - European aerospace giant Airbus will sign an order from Indonesian low-cost carrier Lion Air for more than 200 A320 medium-haul jets at a ceremony Monday with French President Francois Hollande, business daily Les Echos reported in its Monday edition.

Questioned by AFP late Sunday Airbus and the presidency both declined to comment. Earlier Sunday the presidential office said in a statement that Hollande would on Monday host the chief executive of Airbus to celebrate the signing of "a major industrial agreement".

    Lion Air doesn't have that kind of money and every year there are these gigantic deals announced from Asia that never come through to fruition. I remember last year Orient Thai was ordering 7 Billion dollars worth of B787 and I see they are still flying their 30+ year old B747.
