Broadchurch star Colman scores two Baftas

Broadchurch actress Olivia Colman claimed two awards at the annual TV Baftas in London, while James Bond star Ben Whishaw walked away with the best actor prize.

Ben Whishaw and Sheridan Smith pose with their Baftas for "Leading Actor" and "Leading Actress" at the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards in London on May 12, 2013.

Colman took the awards for best supporting actress for her role in Accused and best female in a comedy programme for Twenty Twelve.

Olympic satire Twenty Twelve also won best sitcom while Channel 4's coverage of the Paralympic Games won best sport and live event.

Colman paid tribute to Accused writer Jimmy McGovern and co-star Anne Marie Duff, saying: "If it's alright with everyone, it's for Anne Marie and me to share -- we're Anne Malivia Colemuff, we did it together and I couldn't have done it without her to play off."

Former Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star Sheridan Smith broke into tears when accepting her award for ITV drama Mrs Biggs, in which she played the wife of the Great Train Robber, Ronnie Biggs.

Whishaw scooped the best actor prize for his interpretation of Shakespeare's Henry II and Alan Partridge alter-ego Steve Coogan won best male performance in a comedy programme for Welcome to the Places of My Life.
