Men and women have completely different preferences when it comes to the model names of cars, according to a new study conducted in Germany.
Both sexes conform to the popular preconception that men like names which suggest power, technological superiority and self-presentation, while women tend towards names related to travel or social skills or else ones which sound cosy or feminine.
The study was carried out by the Duesseldorf-based Nomen International, a company which specializes in advising companies on their branding strategy. In the past, the experts have come up with names for models from Volkswagen, Daimler, Toyota and Renault.
