Spanish king's daughter summoned over financial crimes

- +

A Spanish court declared King Juan Carlos' youngest daughter Cristina a suspect in alleged tax and money-laundering crimes Tuesday, a historic first for a direct relative of the monarch.

File photo taken on June 20, 2013 shows Spanish princess Cristina, the youngest daughter of King Juan Carlos, attending a mass commemorating the centenary of the birth of Don Juan de Borbon at the chapel of the Royal Palace in Madrid

Cristina, 48, has been linked to the business affairs of her husband, former Olympic handball player Inaki Urdangarin, who is under investigation for alleged embezzlement of public funds.
