Pope's Harley sells for 241,500 euros

- +

A Harley-Davidson motorbike that briefly belonged to Pope Francis was sold for 241,500 euros (10.7 million baht), 16 times its highest original valuation, at an auction in Paris on Thursday.

A motorcycle Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide offered to the Pope Francois on the occasion of 110th anniversary of the brand in June 2013, is displayed on Wednesday at the Grand Palais in Paris on the eve of an auction of luxury vintage cars.

The US motorbike maker gave the 1,585cc Dyna Super Glide to the pope in June to mark the brand's 110th anniversary, and while the 77-year-old never rode it, he signed it before donating it to Roman Catholic charity Caritas Roma.
