L'Oreal net profit rises 3.2% to 3 bn euros

L'Oreal, the world's largest cosmetics company, said Monday its net profit rose by 3.2 percent last year to 2.96 billion euros ($4.0 billion) on sales which rose by 2.3 percent to 22.98 billion euros.

Chief executive Jean-Paul Agon called the sales growth robust given the slower growth in the sector and noted L'Oreal accelerated its outperformance of the market.
