Oil climbs on eastern Ukraine independence vote

Oil prices rose Monday after pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine claimed a majority of voters in a disputed referendum chose independence, raising fears of a civil war that could disrupt supply.  

Brent North Sea crude gained 49 cents to trade at $108.38 a barrel in London deals

The US benchmark, West Texas Intermediate for delivery in June, added 70 cents to $100.69 a barrel.
