LONDON — A British couple have won a 1-million-pound (48-million-baht) prize in a national lottery for the second time, beating odds of 283 billion to one, reports said on Wednesday.

David and Kathleen Long continued buying lottery tickets after their first million-pound win in July 2013 and struck lucky again last week.

"I just knew it would be my turn again some day," said David Long, a retired lorry driver. "Now it has and we just can't believe it."

"This is an extraordinary situation where somebody's been fortunate enough to win twice," said a spokesman for Camelot, the organisers of Britain's National Lottery.
