EU, Russia, Ukraine agree new gas supply deal: Commissioner

BRUSSELS - Russia agreed to resume gas supplies to Ukraine under a deal clinched late Friday with the European Union, European Energy Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said.

"Major achievement: Gas protocol initialled by RF (Russian Federation) UA (Ukraine) EC (European Commission)," Sefcovic tweeted after months of difficult talks between the three overshadowed by the Ukraine crisis.
