POWER GAMES
Democrats being complacent in victory? Oh, blast!
The M79 grenade that exploded in the parking compound of the state-run National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) was a slap in the face for both the government and its Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES). So was the bomb incident at King Power Complex the night of Aug 26.
Even though security officials believe that both bomb incidents were committed by the same group of assailants, they have not apprehended any suspects so far.
They have not been able to identify if there is a motive behind the attacks on places that are political symbols of Newin Chidchob, who often uses the King Power Complex for meetings, and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, who has to visit the Channel 11 station regularly for his Sunday morning talk show.
