Transport Minister Sohpon Zarum is in the hot seat again with many motorists complaining to the ministry about the traffic jams at entries to expressway toll gates, supposedly caused by the designation of lanes for exclusive use by Easy Pass, or automated toll system, users.
The Bhumjaithai Party minister is reported to have given the Expressway Authority of Thailand (ETA)one month to find out how many motorists use the Easy Pass lane at each toll gate each day.
The information obtained will be used to determine whether an Easy Pass lane will remain operational or be switched to an ordinary lane open to all motorists.
