Stoic calm in the face of utter calamity

Today the censure debate starts in Parliament. Or, as some would describe it, the start of election campaigning televised live, where the Opposition will slam and attack the government for 40 hours while government ministers respond for 20 hours. Residents buy food at a temporary outdoor supermarket in Sendai yesterday. This Japanese city suffered the brunt of the massive earthquake and tsunami last Friday.

But over the weekend I changed my mind. The nightmare scenario pales in comparison to the human tragedy that is still unfolding in Japan and can wait until next Tuesday after the smoke from the debate clears and settles.
