Will the real Yingluck please stand up?

Yingluck this, Yingluck that, Yingluck, Yingluck, Yingluck. It seems you can't go anywhere without seeing a billboard, a TV show, or overhearing a noodle shop conversation that mentions Pheu Thai's number one candidate, Yingluck Shinawatra.

His own man: Chuwit Kamolvisit, leader of Rak Thailand Party, campaigns for votes on Silom Road, Bangkok.

Maybe it's a sign of the times _ perhaps due to the rise in social media all elections around the world will begin to penetrate daily life like this? Or perhaps it's just savvy campaign tactics from the Shinawatra, sorry, Pheu Thai camp.

Chuwit maybe the most straight forward politician in the race, whether you like him or not. He tells it like how it is, how things work and run in this country. Yes, he is a bad role model but at least he tells the truth and don't try to hide it.

As for Mrs. Yingluck, this article tells it all. She needs her think tanks and can crack under pressure. Good luck to her as she is a brave soul.

Abhisit, hopefully he can bring more good to the citizens of Thailand. He should distance himself from the army and make some changes that will impact the low income people. Hopefully he continues on even if he's not PM.

In all the infomation published so far about Yingluck, has there been any reports from her ex-coworkers and subordinates about her management style and effectiveness?
Since everybody is using her business background to overshadow her lack of political savy, it would seem appropriate to find out just how good SHE is and not just the company she worked for.

Some comments in this oped actually make me feel very sorry for Khun Yingluck and the way, essentially, she is being treated by the people around her (but that of course doesn't mean I think a professional or public decision would be to reward her with a PM spot - quite the opposite).

Why does everyone seem to admire Chuwit? The man obtained his money by running a chain of brothels. He did this by bribing officials and was caught in the act. After that he was responsible for the destruction of a shopping precinct on the site of his "Chuwit Park" (such a modest man, eh?) by sending in thugs to bulldoze down the shops, some with the owners inside, in the dead of night. How can he even be considered to run for office?

Watch the interview of her in English. Besides the fact that her English is as atrocious as her brothers (not good for someone who could be on the world stage), she comes across as somewhat less glamorous than one would expect, quite fluffy and empty, and nothing really more than a HiSo housewife.

For someone who is actually the webmaster of this site, he's right on the button here, very astute and revealing, well done! Arglit is impressing me as a real journalist more and more.

@browser: I support your idea that everyone in Thailand should read this article – and learn from it. But I suspect that the die hard Shinawatra supporters will never ever change their mind. It seems like they are all brain washed.
About Chuwit: I like his idea about a yacht etc. but I can’t afford it. Chuwit can afford the yacht and lots of brandy, woman and cigars. So I wonder why he is campaigning on Silom and not spending his time on a yacht somewhere. Does he wants to help Thailand with his vast experience or does he want to earn a bigger yacht or what is his motivation?

BP should change the heading from "OPINION" because they ONLY print opinions that they want to print. Censorship is still strong and thriving in Thailand.

i would suggest that everyone watch and listen to the interview with Khun Chuwit Kamolvisit. You may not vote for him. You may not even like him and/or his style. But what he says is so true it is frightening.

Particularly true is his comments about robots. Someone out of the country presses a button and 200 MPs put their hand up in unison. Robots. Is it going to change after this election ? In your dreams.

Browser, It does not matter what you think or I think, but it does matter what the majority thinks.I Hate Thaksin with a passion... I thought he was the worst scoundrel Thailand ever elected, until the military took over and put in their man. It was then that I realized just how high the puppet strings reached. And as Yingluck has an army of minders, Abhisit has an ARMY to mind. The first being metaphorically speaking and the latter literally speaking. And let their be no doubt the Green shirts will stay in power.
