Do we remember the burning of Thailand?

Many people have expressed bewilderment. How is it that Pheu Thai Party's popularity is at a high? How is it that they are leading the Democrat Party in poll after poll? Sure, Yingluck Shinawatra is a hot item right now, but that can't be the sole reason, can it?

Could it be the genius of the Thaksin Shinawatra political machine? Could it be the ineptitude of the Abhisit Vejjajiva political machine? Could it be the naivete of the voting public?

Most likely, it's a combination of all of these.

We should also remember Thaksin's gross corruption and style of government : Thaksin Inc. Republic... if he had his way...

Yes, we remember how many get locked up and shot down like animal and how many didn't get nothing no matter if they took over the airport. Actually the same people got promoted to become the foreign minister. Wow..really? You still got the nerve to talk about justice? What justice? We will vote accordingly.

I concur that we the Thai people wanted to elect our own government. We don't want other people, including the military coup, to decide our own government.

You may be certain that if the PT/UDD/Red coalition don't get enough seats to govern they'll cry foul, election-rigging, etc. The man abroad is throwing an enormous amount of money at this election, in a last-ditch effort to return to the Thai political arena. If he doesn't succeed, the Redshirts will be back on the streets with a vengeance, mark my words.

Tony Blair won his election mainly due to The brilliance of his campaign manager Alastair Campbell, who was a brilliant spin doctor that realised the british public were fed up with 17 years of Tory rule (they voted convincingly for him though he turned out to be a man of poor moral judgment). Peau Thai have an equally brilliant campaign advisor in Thaksin Shinawatra. With a government of dubious legitimacy and the background of a coup, he realized that you could go to any lengths to discredit them and it wouldn't backfire. Most of us a appalled at what happened in Bangkok and can see through the whole strategy to set this government up to spill blood, it was nothing short of terrorism and treason, yet the public sympathy ultimately were for those poor red shirt leaders sitting in jail, and the 91 dead, the nurse in the temple, and the poor who just want their own man in charge of the country. Evidently alot of Bangkok people and the public in general see nothing wrong with holding a capital hostage for 3 months trying to 'force' democracy, and then burning the city down on orders of men who will shortly be sitting in our esteemed parliament. The actions of the UDD have been appalling, far worse than the PAD and they were clearly directed and supported by the man in Dubai, yet such is the mood here, that the UDD could have raise the entire kingdom to the ground and PT would still get the sympathy vote. They've set up Abhisit brilliantly over the course of his term and it's worked.

Issan people form a major part of the Bangkok population. The reds eat their own. A guy in Dubai pays Jatuporn et all to tell them to do it. Thaksin thinks and the reds do. Justice , democracy, yeah right.

If its written on the PTP website page it must be true . Wake up .The poor are still poor .The only thing that has changed for them is the cost of living .Thaksin isnt interested in solving the problems of the poor only placating them with handouts .He had eight years .

dao D41 - "Teaching job skills , Micro financing loans for small businesses ,and understanding how to stay out of debt are things which require work .Not just cash being thrown at them."
Teaching job skills and microfinance loans are clearly listed on the PTP policy webpage. The loans were and are being offered as an government alternative/solution to loan sharks.

If the poor were serious about improving their plight they wouldn't chose a corrupt billionaire hiding in Dubai .They would chose one of their own that knows their problems intricately . Teaching job skills , Micro financing loans for small businesses ,and understanding how to stay out of debt are things which require work .Not just cash being thrown at them.
