A little less sweet and a whole lot tougher

All leaders are tested. As Thailand's first woman prime minister, Yingluck Shinawatra's first trial is the flood of 2011.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra attends the Asean Summit in Bali on November 18.

A natural disaster is an immense challenge for any leader. For Thailand, it involves expediting the bureaucracy to get timely relief to the people, moving and managing relief funds, planning and executing a large-scale recovery effort and balancing national and provincial-level politics. The coordinating of logistics alone, in order to manage the crisis, is overwhelming.

"A little less sweet and a whole lot tougher"

    HOW?

House debating skills?......maybe in telling off the kid and BF when they don't eat up all their din dins.

    Leadership Skills?

    Managerial skills?

    Negotiation skills?

    Diplomatic skills?

Where are the examples of all the above? or at least one example surely.

All these post on BP who say about LEADER, elected under "Democracy Rules", think again. USA go into their election with a LEADER of Republicans & Democrats (named). UK Parties go into the election with a named LEADER. Same Germany, France, etc. Thailand goes into the election with NO party leader (maybe when obvious), but last few Thai PM's - Yingluk, Taksin's brother in law, Samak, were not even designated leader of the party when people voted. Same Bahnarn, Yongyouth, etc. Democracy in Thailand, does not exist. Under this system, without Taksin coming back, expect Chalerm next!!!!!!!

Dear ricefield #21: I quoted from the article, written by a woman, when I wrote: "she is a mother, the disciplinarian of the household". Its no my statement! If you must, blame the person who wrote it and not the person who quoted her.

It has been a tough start for the PM, this long battle with the flooding crisis. Sometimes mother nature is doing its own thing.

Ricefield D21- I think you have credited D10 with comments he did not make as he was quoting from
the article and I assume that's why he enclosed those comments in quotation marks.

Can anybody enlighten me as to why whenever politicians are interviewed by the media on TV, they have big guys stand behind them in suits trying to look hard. Is this to intimidate the media into not asking hard questions?
