From good to bad in search of better

If the current debate on whether or not the lese majeste law should be amended escalates into confrontation and violence, it would not be because people involved subscribe to extremely different viewpoints, but because people in power respond to progressive needs with authoritarian answers.

In short, society has more of a chance of keeping the peace by allowing people to discuss the law, than by trying to suppress them from doing so.
