Unneeded flood tour

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra leaves this morning on a five-day national tour meant to focus on flood problems. She is taking 10 cabinet ministers to seven provinces which were badly hit in the deluge in the latter half of last year.

That restricts her visits to just the lower North and the Central regions. Ms Yingluck will be appearing in her new capacity as head of the National Water Resources and Flood Policy Committee. This body, formed last week, is somewhat misnamed, since it is still very much a committee in search of a policy.

The premier's up-country tour this week recalls last year's spurious, strange trip to Suphan Buri which conveniently kept her so far away from the unacceptable attempt to sneak through a royal amnesty for her brother Thaksin.

The prime minister, manages and deligates the ministers. They all have assigned roles, they should also be able to perform their duties while the prime minister is doing other things. Thats what they are paid for, if they can not then they should not be in the position they are in.Why have a dep prime minister if he can not deputise in the absance of the PM. It is correct that a head of an agency should inspect areas of concern and problems. But why take cabinet members i have no idea, they know nothing. it should be people actually in the agency. Committees are never any use as all they do is form other committes.

    Disc3 - A team player? Micromanage?
That's funny... Most of the important decisions seem to be made at meetings she's not invited to.

What is the use of a team leader if he/she is not a team player. Why do you need to have a team when you want to micromanage. A team leader who is also a team player is more valuable than a who is a 'know it all.'

bula, D1 & D3; You don't understand the position of Prime Minister, and maybe Yingluck doesn't either. (Her brother certainly did when he officially held the position).

It is not to be a team player, it is to be the Team Leader, (Also sole selector of the team).

PM YS is a team player. She doesn’t micromanage. The ministers are appointed to performance their duties and should answer questions related to their respective ministry. PM YS prioritise her duties.

Is that "gentleman's work/intention." or simply to miss the Constitution Court session same as she missed proposed royal amnesty for her brother Thaksin, or may be by instructions from Dubai.

This editorial reminds me of a chinese saying, and I try to translate it as best I can.
    Using/having a small person's(siao ren)heart, or a person of low character, to measure/judge a gentleman's work/intention.
