Nothing to gain

Since being in opposition, the Democrats have done an admirable job in checking the government's conduct.

But by joining in the recent squabble over PM Yingluck's hotel visit (BP, Feb 12), the party has lowered its high standard of a responsible opposition party to a party gleefully fanning rumours and innuendo commonly taking place in hairdressing salons and Chinese-style morning coffee shops.

PM Yingluck's ''mystery'' visit does not warrant being ''solved'' in the national interest. It is none of our business unless someone got beaten up.

    egon,
That someone is correct to scream but for the Democrats, it is rather ungentlemanly to get involved.

    domdunn,
You are mistaken. Your referred polls were all related to the comparison of the previous Abhisit government and the current Yingluck government. Yingluck had a large edge over Abhisit. There has never been a poll on being in opposition. It is generally known that the Democrats have always been good in questioning and debating. No party is better than them in that role. They may end up in that role for life that should please you.

    Songedj.

You seem to be in the minority in believing that the Dems are doing a good job in opposition, all the recent polls show them getting low scores.
