A false sense of security

Thailand never ceases to be Amazing!

In addition to our beautiful beaches, exotic temples and delicious massaman curry, we are getting quite a reputation as a haven for would-be bombers.

While people upcountry live together as a more closely knit community, with the entire village knowing exactly what is going on in the house next door, Bangkok residents are not really so inclined to get together for an evening chat in their respective sois. And I don't blame them. Life in Bangkok is a constant fight against time; we have to beat the traffic to get to work, we have to get the job done whether it keeps us at the office late or not, we have to grab dinner on the run (who has time to cook dinner from scratch every day now?), and by the time we get home, we're happy just to have a shower and crawl into bed.

The usual outcome of the situation is again one ID card or another everyone must carry; abroad the idea of someone who had developed a card, also technically, with the intention of relieving the environment, parking your car to be able to use public transport, in his negotiation with the government was gradually rejected and used for other purposes in a scheme of commercial contacts with industry who would fabricate the card, which they did, with many defects. So this is the only type of group I can think that would have some interest in social upheaval for your safety.
