MY TWO SATANGS
Social media and networks, reposts, tweets, shares, likes and viral videos all mean one thing, and it's not that the human race as a species is becoming more advanced due to new technology. It means it's getting harder and harder to lie and talk nonsense.
This Thai Facebook page backing Barack Obama shows the reach of social media, but many of Thailand’s powers that be have failed to grasp the importance of the technology. They had better wise up, because the public’s involvement with brands and people has changed forever.
Obviously lying to people and talking nonsense is bad, so not being able to do it should probably be hailed as a good thing. Of course, lying and talking nonsense in your personal life is still fine as long as you don't leave too big of an online footprint or have a really suspicious wife. But if you live in the public eye, or have a message or information that you want to deliver, it's just not possible to make your way through it anymore.
