If you can make it there, You can make it anywhere

At times I look at the screen names and know exactly what the comments will be. Sometimes I wonder if the Democrat and Pheu Thai parties, the yellows and the reds, have all paid some foreigners sitting half way across the world to battle on the 'Bangkok Post' website on their behalf

Reading the Bangkok Post article on fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra dining at a Thai restaurant in New York was quite interesting and comical, especially when browsing through readers' comments online. It was his first visit to New York and the United States since the 2006 military coup ousted him while he was attending a United Nations meeting in the Big Apple.

According to the article, a few Thais showed up to greet Thaksin in New York. Judging from the photo, their political stance was unclear, however, as they wore neutral colours, except for one lady in yellow. The hand and foot clappers were yellow, red and green in colour, so perhaps those in attendance wanted to represent the entire political spectrum. At any rate, everything went down nice and cordially.
