Musical chairs at NSC

Four years and three different chiefs. Is the National Security Council in the same boat as the Transport and Education ministries: another political victim?

As a key agency responsible for security policy for the government, it requires a closer look at what direction the NSC will take from Oct 1 when it has a new leader.

NSC officials were optimistic that their office would settle down and they could get back on track after Thawil Pliengsri's promotion from deputy to secretary-general four years ago. His qualifications and background were in no doubt, as well as his leadership and the respect he had from his staff.

    It's going to take Thailand many years to recover from the damage PT are doing to it.

    By definition, the kind of person who agrees to Thaksins terms and conditions does not have the qualities needed to run a country.

    As Thailand is owned and run now from Dubaii, we should be careful the PM in Dubaii does not sell Thailand out to the Arabs and pocket the money.
