THAI has lost its way

New Thai Airways president Sorajak Kasemsuvan believes that Thai cuisine, Otop silk fabrics and courteous service will halt its spluttering performance.

He has only got one out of three _ courteous service.

Maybe he should try focusing on price, service and comfort. These are what interest most travellers.

Wonder if Voctor and loong are talking one way or rt? I booked a roundtrip flight SFO-BKK-SFO last June (Just arrived back at SFO). Fifty one thousand Baht. About the US$1,600 Khun Loong mentioned. Same trip used to be about 30K Baht. About the price Khun Victor mentioned.
Considering price, and the amazing joys of passing through US airports, frankly I'd rather swim.

I have always fly Thai Airways and no-one else has ever paid for my ticket. I could have chosen Turkish or Aeroflot to save 5-10 %,with stop-overs,but I prefer to reach my destination safely without stop-overs and I am in no mood to contract diarrhea on the plane. I find the service/food/safety and price of Thai Airways to be at least satisfactory. Besides,I have this twisted belief that by flying Thai Airways,I am actually contributing to the betterment of the economy in the country I love.

D7 have to disagree about the leg room on Thai i stopped using them for the international leg 4 years ago
I use EVA which has all new aircraft complete with seat back entertainment systems good food and courteous service and the clincher for me is the arrival times into BKK doesn’t put it up against arrivals from Europe from Thai/BA/Quantas so immigration is a bit easier
As for internals now we have a choice mostly Bangkok airways but I do admit when I go to Udorn I use THai

    D9,
I booked on line China Eastern, at the cost of 8,100 HKD, which is exactly 33,163.30 THB that SCB charged me a month ago, arriving JFK at 2pm.

Thai Airlines is a nationalistic protected monopoly totally out of touch with the rest of the industry .Its prices are 30 % higher than anyone else .I dont even check the price with them when buying flights .

    Tired of 3G fraud
Perry, when you signed the contract with AIS did you actually sign up for 3G or just the standard contract? There IS 3G in a lot of cities but on the 850 mHz band and not the 2.1 gHz band which is what the auction is all about.
