Flood trouble shooter shows up govt again

Seree Supratid, the flood trouble shooter, is back on Thai PBS, and for TV viewers, it can't be good news.

Frankly, it would be good news for all of us if the associate professor at Rangsit University's disaster management faculty could just sit back and concentrate on his teaching.

Don't get me wrong. I wholeheartedly respect his expertise. But the fact that he is back on the scenes means he has warnings in store for us. And doesn't his presence make Plodprasop Suraswadi, the country's controversial water manager, look rather redundant?

"Weren't his conclusions based on government data and statistics and events that already had taken place?" That is the way one is supposed to make predictions.

D3 : It probably comes as a surprise to you,but no,he didn't. In stark contrast to this government and it's headless followers, you, the professor knows what he's doing and thinks before he makes a comment. Something you ought to try one day.

Again it is all about face. How can a government 'official' ever admit to being inaccurate or, heaven forbid, wrong.

There are several approaches to flood control, each is valid, but by arguing about them you end up with either nothing getting done or a poor compromise.
