I read Kunphatu Sakwit's letter about the Temple of the Emerald Buddha on Saturday with sadness and great sympathy.
In England most of our great cathedrals are now lost to God because of excessive numbers of tourists overwhelming any pilgrims brave enough to be there. The cathedrals have only themselves to blame.
Our cathedrals have reverted to their former role in medieval times: that of a commercial enterprise. It is a depressing sight that does Christianity no favours.
