Double click for some instant gratification

Recently, I have been trying to teach my young daughter about actions and consequences. Stuff like if you throw your toys around they break, or if you draw all over daddy's things he'll throw all your toys away and make you play with empty tin cans for the rest of your childhood.

I think she is starting to get the picture as now she thinks twice before making witch's potions out of mummy's perfume for Halloween.

But even well into adulthood some people still fail to grasp the very simple concept of action equals reaction.

Choices and consequences exist everywhere except Thailand. There are very few consequences for any wrongdoing.

I had this awful problem of actions and there consequences with my son in C Mai. Despite my attempts to make him understand I found his school teachers and the local police didn't want to help and often overlooked things that should have been punished. Hence he went on to worse behavior before he got the message. Idle threats do not work. This is in the real world. Internet is still a world many people have trouble getting to grips with.

Thereafter perhaps he'd be able to interact socially in a more positive way and find a situation based on mutual attraction rather than remunerative bondage.

Perhaps the facebook incident is a result of a widespread belief that money can do anything. No one needs to doubt there is no lack of people/women receiving financial support in return for bodily satisfaction. Facebook is just an extension of what already exists in society. What irks me is his assumption that she must already have money as she declined his offer. An astonishingly shallow assumption. He would be better served spending some money at the "Julio Iglesias"social grace and skills with women school. Thereafter perhaps he'd be able to interact socially in a more positive way and find a situations based on mutual attraction rather th

".... without thinking what the consequences could be. It's just part of human nature."
    An incorrect statement.
There is very little that can be categorized as 'human nature'. This, and most other traits, etc. that are explained as human nature are in fact habits and reactions developed as a response to life experience.
Humans come in to the world as a virtual blank canvas compared to all other species.

It is a condemnation of the system that we live by that so many negative traits have become 'normal' behaviour.

Online Trolls? Is that what we are? Is that we’ve become? Better you shut down this forum then.

BTW: Doesn’t that original published comment [value judgement] have a certain 'Essence of Troll’ whiff to it? Hmmm……..?

You're on the right track, but you've got it backwards. People have always liked instant gratification. Some of them still eat their meat raw so they don't have to take time to cook it. Instant gratification has spawned facebook, twitter, games, etc. Clever people have seen a great opportunity by catering to this desire in most of us. Now we can be instant experts, gods, whatever - without even revealing our identity sometimes.
