Postbag: Desensitised youth

It's been a few days now since the horrific shooting spree in Connecticut and the media are all asking the obvious question and that is ... why ? What amazes me is why so many can't see the answers.

1. There are too many guns everywhere, including here in Thailand.

2. The current generation of 10-20 year-olds has been brought up in the internet age of zero censorship and this, combined with shockingly realistic, violent video games, television shows, etc, has desensitised them to reality and normal moral values.

All AV had to do was dissolve parliament and call an election, the protesters would have had nothing left to demonstrate for.

AV did not need the UDD agreement to call an election the power lies within the PM's hands entirely.

I dont think you are going to find any environmental awareness from Yinlguck unless it gets her brother votes or there is a lot of money to be made from it .The Burmese PM said yesterday that there will be environmental problems building Dawei and people should just deal with it .They havent even started yet .
