Debts are a ticket to doom

My mum and I once discussed doomsday. I told her if there really was going to be such a day, I would buy up everything I fancied using all the credit lines available to me to their maximum allowance.
And when the day arrived and I'd be dead, as would be everyone else in this world, all my debts will been cleared. That's it!
I remember mum asked me back: "What do you do if the world does not come to an end? Don't you think your life will be full of debts and you will have to work your tail off to repay the money you have already spent?
