Red lights go unheeded

Re: "Family hurt in public van crash" (BP, Dec 24).

Why am I not surprised to read that a bus driver ran through a red light and crashed?

I'm not surprised because I see it all the time.

    BIGGS' FAN... Really?
Your letter spurred me to go read the article you found so offensive. Guess what, it's not offensive at all. Those Polish Christians that appear every now and then, are indeed, nut cases. I have seen them at the Sukhumvit and Asoke intersection too, although, usually telling me I will be damned for going into Soi Cowboy. LOL.
I am a 60 year old Irish Catholic and have come to the realization that all religions, as practiced by the majority, are wrong. More human suffering and evil has been done in the name of some god/religion, than any other cause. Time to stop the insanity.

Ontological arguments proving the existence of God have been going on since St. Anselm in the Middle Ages. Nobody has convincingly succeeded in proving God's existence because proof is based on logic and empirical evidence and how can you suport something as irrational as faith with logic and evidence?

Religion is a fraud. Plain and simple.

Funny how believers in the Almighty seem to have such long toes and are so easily offended. That only shows that their faith is pretty shaky, at best...

I support putting religion under the magnifying glass especially when so much money is involved and few accounts kept of where it actually goes .Thai airlines doesnt need a terminal it needs to be more competitive because it is over priced .People like to talk about how piolite they are but that quickly disappears when they get behind the wheel of a car .It wil only get worse as PT is currently encouraging it through its car scheme.

Andrew, don't take any notice of your Fan's comments. His comments are out to lunch and your article was just fine. Apparently your fan does not believe in the freedom of speech for all.

One reason why drivers run the red light is because the cycle time of the traffic lights are unreasonably long, especially during the night and early hours when traffic volomes are very low. What should be done is to make use of the variable cycle times to fit the traffic demand, but the authorities are too lazy to put the traffic controllers in full use.

    re:MR BIGGS' FAN.
Why does religion always come with a "taboo' badge. Religions faiths are quick to attack any thing they oppose, promote irrational thought, have their own economic interests at heart etc.....a bit like politics, and we are supposed to look the other way? Any large organization selling an idea or product to the public should be up for criticism, religion included.
