Government's competency being tested

The government is facing two serious problems with potential widespread economic and social impact that will test its wisdom and competency.

The first problem is the energy shortage expected in April, the hottest month of the year, and the likelihood a "state of energy emergency", whose actual meaning needs clarification, will be declared to cope with the situation.

One way to generate electric is to build garbage disposal plants - like killing two birds with one stone - but of course there are (influential) people who are not interested to have one.

Just another way to get hold of large sums of money; declare a state of emergency.

A few days ago there was a state of emergency declared in Northern provinces, including Chiang Mai. Apparently there was dangerously cold weather. C.M. temperatures have been ranging between 20 and 35!

    THE RESULTS ARE IN !

    Competency - 19%
    Wisdom - 11%
Both figures representing a 50% increase over last year !

The positive side of a drought: Less rice to store

    Energy conservation tip
    - Think when you use the on/off button - think when you set the air-con.

Sleeping in a room at more than 20 degrees is possible. Even for Thais.
Cinema going without winter-jacket or blanket is ok.
I know where Central, Robinson, Big C, Lotus and so on are. Switch of some lights, at least when closed.

It used to be dry here at my place until they built the dam and now we never run out of water. As for the natural gas problem, well if Thailand does not have the reserve storage capacity equivelant to one weeks supply in case of emergencies I would suggest they start building tanks.

The 2 can be solved with 1 plan but it will cost many billions. The major rivers runs north to south in the central plains. If they build canals (major ones) running east to west connecting these rivers and with weirs in the rivers to control waterflow into the canals. These canals are then also connected to tunnels (2) running north south (ending in the sea east and west of BKK). When there is a flood/raining season the canals and tunnels serve as extra storage/run off and can generate electricity using the natural high difference north to south.

For a start, let's have government fulfilled their elected term of office and not truncated by military or judiciary coups. Projects of such scale requires planning, implementation and management and takes lengthy time to finish. Just how many Governments have fulfilled their 4 terms in office.
