Amnesty has gone through quite a transformation of late; from a mantra, to a charade and now the most dreaded word in politics.
In the years of spectacular tumult and political violence that followed the 2006 coup, we like to think we have tried with all our might to put the past behind us and move on.
The actual fighting is long gone. But as a society we remain split down the middle. Maybe we have tripped in our first step in burying the hatchet, if we're honest with ourselves.
