Yet another environmental crusader slain

Yet another self-made environmental protection activist has fallen – this time at the hand of a gunman believed to have been hired by local businessmen and politicians involved in the dumping of toxic industrial waste in Chachoengsao province.

The victim, 43-year old Prajob Nao-opas, was village headman of moo 14, tambon Nong Haen, Phanom Sarakham district. He was murdered in broad daylight on Monday by a gunman at an automobile garage on the Phanom Sarakham-Ban Sang road as he was waiting for mechanics to complete repairs to his pickup truck.

Witnesses told police the gunman and another man arrived at the garage in  a black Honda Accord. Both of them approached Prajob and one of them  fired four shots from an 11mm semi-automatic pistol at the headman, who died shortly after he was rushed to the district hospital. The two killers escaped in their car.

Nail the mastermind....not a chance. That never happens in Thailand. Another disgusting example of a good man fighting injustice and then permanently silenced for speaking out. Way to go Thailand and rich guys.....and scum bags too!

Anyone know what is the going market rate for a hired Thai killer nowadays? I don't think one needs to be a millionaire businessman to be able to afford in hiring one, right? I guess nowadays one should think twice or thrice before 'trying' to do the right thing!!! Unless one is tired of living!
What is the world becoming to? I wonder how many percent of 'real' human there is left in this world?

D1 Khun Dao, there are 65 million people here and only a tiny majority are old school sharks and crooks.

Someone recently suggested there might be a "Thai Spring" . Personally I do not think that will happen but I think with increased exposure through social media and new generation leaders educated overseas who have seen the good and bad in other societies a generational change is beginning. Mr T is crafty and clever but IMO he is also the last of his breed. Let hope the disgusting person who arranged this hit gets his just deserts.

If they can get Khamnan Poh, there is hope.

Would also explain why there does not exist a whole lot of meaningful investigating journalism in the Kingdom.

The irony here is this person was murdered for trying to do the right thing .The people who harm society are rewarded with indifference to the law and even contempt for people who try to follow it .We are so lost .
