In search of a new 'magic eye'

"Magic Eye", back in the 1980s everyone knew how to sing the song: "ah-ah yaa ting ka-ya" or "no-no don’t throw the trash". We sang it and we lived it. Have trash in your hand? Better throw it in the bin, not on the street. Magic Eye is watching!

Magic Eye was a social campaign to clean up Bangkok created by Khunying Chodchoi Soponpanich in 1984. Everyone knew the Magic Eye logo and poster, they were everywhere. We loved the song. We loved the campaign. We bought the vision.

D@28: "I thought Democracy was invented by the Greeks, and perfected by the British..."

    Are you kidding me???

Modern democracy was established in the USA (1776-87) l-o-n-g before the UK... in fact, when they still had a pretty crazy king on the throne (George).

Although it struggles nowadays, there is no doubt that these documents (Declaration, Constitution, Federalist papers) of democracy have never been exceeded.

Switzerland did not give women federal voting rights until 1971, the last European country to do so, so hardly a scion of democracy.

    Khun spiceman .. D28
The Swiss see themselves often like this. Sarcasm didn't show, sorry.
But the "the invention of a position of the Prime Minister" being the perfection? Come on.

    Excellent condemnation of our system.
Isn't it time to move on from the ancient way of worshipping and/or deferring to a mere human leader?
We have created such an incredibly complex system to live within and it is obviously impossible for top-down hierarchies to provide what is needed within it. Thanks to the internet, we live in an inter-connected world - we should be providing every person with access to the latest, constantly updated knowledge. When the people know, the problems will go.

    Thailand needs heroes.

Alas, all it gets is martyrs.

Maybe that is the price that has to be paid.

    Great position. Poor future.

Khun Oldexp #24, I thought Democracy was invented by the Greeks, and perfected by the British with the invention of a position of the Prime Minister?
