IKEA

What has furniture retailer Ikea stopped selling at its Thai store?

A)Loveseats because it doesn't offer enough space for a husband to sit with his wife and mistress.

B)Plates because Thai people prefer to eat from foam containers and plastic bags.

C)Bookcases because no one reads here.

D)Swedish meatballs because of accusations they contained horsemeat. In the latest incident surrounding "Horsegate", Czech food inspectors found that some of Ikea's Swedish-made meatballs have traces of equine DNA, although the label says they only contain beef and pork. Besides Thailand, this finding has led to the withdrawal of the meatballs in 21 European countries as well as Hong Kong and the Dominican Republic. We don't think Thai people would mind eating horse given our penchant for unusual fare, but at the very least this should remind people how silly it is to get your food at a furniture store.

JOB

Why were up to 15 miners in Australia recently fired?

A)Because they lied about developing the black lung to get out of work.

B)Because they were keeping the valuable minerals they found for themselves.

C)Because they turned the mine into a man cave and sat there playing video games.

D)Because they performed an underground version of the "Harlem Shake" and posted the video to YouTube. The miners, who were part of an overnight crew working at the Agnew Gold Mine in Western Australia, are seen performing the latest dance craze in a 30-second video. The routine begins with one solo dancer who is quickly joined by a group, and in this case some miners are seen shirtless and wielding tools. Barminco, the owner of the mine, dismissed the workers because of what they saw as a violation of the company's "core values of safety, integrity and excellence". However the workers claim they weren't endangering themselves, as they kept their helmets on throughout the dance. A Facebook page has also been set up to "Reinstate the sacked WA Harlem Shake Miners".

PANDA

Where should you go if you love all things panda-related?

A)To TrueVisions to get old footage from the now-defunct Panda Channel.

B)To the internet where you can Google information about pandas.

C)To a zoo where you can see pandas, duh.

D)To the Haoduo Panda Hotel, which is reportedly the world's first panda-themed hotel. Officially opening in China's Sichuan province in May, the hotel has managed to incorporate the black-and-white creature in almost every aspect. Among other things, the 32 rooms feature beds with panda ear headboards, paintings, cuddly toys, and panda paw prints. Employees also dress up in panda costumes to entertain guests. Room rates start from $48 (B1,432) per night.
