It looks like full steam ahead ... well maybe not

You may have noticed an exciting report last week announcing a high-speed rail link to Pattaya by 2018, with flashy trains whizzing along at 250kph.

The train would supposedly whisk you to the beach resort in under an hour, although it would probably take twice as long again battling through the Pattaya traffic which appears to be run on the chaos theory.

Frankly, the thought of hurtling towards Pattaya at such a great speed is a bit scary.

No investment you cannot expect it to be self financing that is what is wrong. No money , its all gone on the Rice scheme and the obvious big C.

The crosswalk signals worked for a brief time when first installed. Not that many drivers noticed, mind you. But now those same crosswalk signals don't even light up at all.
Another project done just for show and with no accountability.

Is it suggested to give Pattaya administration control over this project, or, worse, over the money?

Their last public works project - installing traffic lights - was a total shambles; they don't work, they've not been repaired, must have cost a fortune, nobody has bene publicly sacked, and where's the accountability?!

just to prove how "advanced" the SRT is back on 3 July 1938, 75 years ago, the Mallard took the title of the world speed record for steam locomotives at 125.88 mph (202.58 km/h and still holds that record.
I doubt that ANY train in Thailand has reached half that speed.
