The world is so complicated these days that keeping one's personal life as simple as possible is crucial to maintaining peace of mind as well as the ability to tackle problems resulting from outside influences.
However, some seemingly little things just can't be overlooked because they can turn out to have a surprisingly great impact.
The other day I had a dinner appointment with a couple of friends from overseas. The restaurant was near Asok intersection just one subway stop away from Khlong Toey where the Bangkok Post office is located. There were almost two full hours to kill before the meeting time. Initially, my plan was to take the subway from Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre station to Asok and find a cozy cafe in the area where I could linger over a cup of coffee and the internet. Another option was a massage place where hopefully there would be someone who knows how to knead the stress off my back and shoulders caused by long hours of sitting in front of the computer. But walking into an unfamiliar massage place is like gambling: you never know how well-trained your assigned masseuse will be. Actually, getting some exercise would be a surer way to refresh tense muscles, but at that moment it seemed to be out of question.
