They include US President Barack Obama, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, US Supreme Court Chief Justice John G Roberts and former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson.
But a Google search for Pornphet Vichicholachai returned only recent Bangkok Post news articles, not a single scholarly paper, reference or citation.
Perhaps we may therefore assume no such assistance will be sought or given?

MH17 was unarmed
The July 27 Robert Fisk article, “840 dead, but Israel acts with impunity”, comparing the downing of flight MH17 to the deaths in Gaza would have been laughable, had it not been so sad.
Mr Fisk forgets that MH17 was not armed — so it was NOT shooting thousands of missiles to targets below. Hamas is armed and has launched thousands of missiles into Israel.
What is there to compare, Mr Fisk ?
The world’s apathy in relation to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is understandable in that these two factions have been after each other for over 50 years. We have had a number of “peace plans”, all to what end?
You want to end the blockade of Gaza, which surely would lead to a vast influx of arms with which Israel would be attacked. How would you deal with that, Mr Fisk?
I agree the situation as it stands is untenable and unacceptable. But to compare this to the flight MH17 disaster, makes you no less an expert on the subject than current and past leaders trying to find yet another solution to the decades-old acrimony.
As a top Pentagon intelligence officer, Lt Gen Michael Flynn said over the weekend: "Is there going to be peace in the Middle East? Not in my lifetime."

Mouths of babes
I left Bangkok Post Sunday on the table after reading the Mae Moo gossip column. My two kids picked up the paper and started going through it. "What does ‘out of wedlock’ mean?" they asked me. Here comes the parent to children morality lesson.
I explained that it meant having a baby before getting married. The back-and-forth banter was quite interesting, with the kids wanting to know why it was wrong for them, but okay for these so-called movie and TV stars and singers?
It was a good question. Most of these so-called entertainers really are mediocre and do lack talent. They have their jobs mostly due to their looks, who they know or who they bed, not due to their ability to entertain. Most are actually jerks.
They remind me of the 1950s bobby-soxers who creamed for Ferlin Huskey, Bobby Darren and a few other teen-idol singers who could not sing a note but wiggled and squirmed and smiled at the kids, who went wild and sold records.
The Thai entertainment industry should have a few rules for those they hire. Those entertainers should know that no one is interested in their sex life, their ability (or inability) to have kids, their patrimony and DNA lawsuits, their parents, who they live with, who they do it with, or what they call their babies.
If these so-called “entertainers” are any example to kids today, no wonder there are so many illegitimate kids and teenage single mothers.

Odd BTS behaviour
Further to this strange behaviour by BTS security guards (Re: “Strange antics on BTS,” Thai Pulse, July 25), I witnessed the following recently at Siam station.
Minutes before the train arrived, the security guard was walking up and down the platform, between the newly installed closed glass door partitions in front of waiting passengers. Every few metres he would blow his whistle and make them back further away from the protective barriers!
It was not only odd, but disturbing to most passengers whose bewilderment I witnessed.
