I find it more interesting in why the US military allowed a private (Manning) to have access to so much information.

Lucky that he wasn't messing around with the Russians, otherwise, he could be glowing in the dark!

Assange deserves a medal, but he will never be elected to the Senate, and if the impossible happened it would not slow down for one minute the American Empire's efforts to silence freedom of speech.

Espionage is a dangerous "game," reserved only for highly trained professionals belonging to one of the "clubs," (CIA, KGB, MI-6, MOSSAD, and etc.). So, if Assange wants to play the "game," he must join one of the "clubs" first. For example the "007" always have the full weight of Her Majesty's Govt behind him in his service to her. And, as far as I know, "007" is quite a gentleman too, especially, around beautiful women, something Assange obviously is lacking.

Assange is delusional if he thinks he can 1) get elected to Australia's upper house and 2) if elected that will give him a free pass on the charges against him.

Incidentally, I do not think he would do well with the female vote. My girl friends and I find him more than a little creepy. Not helped by his lack of sexual etiquette and respect for his wife.

Hero, one who displays courage and self-sacrifice for the greater good. Assange, one who runs away from responsibility, one who expects to be treated differently, one who is selective in which laws and conventions apply to him, one who's motive is self promotion and profit. He is however, revered by trolls and the rent-a-mob anti-establishment brigade. Are posters seriously trying to say that Sweden is an American puppet and that he will not get the fairest of treatment matching any nation in the world? I can't see him in the US, but talk of lynch mobs? More like trial under intense media scrutiny with the very best of legal aid.

It is time for little 'Julie' to stand for himself and stop hiding behind the skirt of the Ecuador Embassy. The US has not made any charges against him. For an adult he is certainly acting the part of a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. For those who want to continue to praise and worship him like a demigod go ahead, that is you choice. I think the guy is a pervert trying to avoid paying the price for his actions. Kinda like a guy in Dubai.

Is this an admission that being of affluent positon buys one a get out of jail free card. I thought this was the guy that blew the horn on these types.
