Sports are merely a conditioning tool to make parents willing to let their sons die as heros.

It is true football has become ridiculous. I agree though this new goal line technology should be implemented. Then PLAYBACK.

We need to avoid incidents like Maradonnas "hand of god".

In a way he has paid the price because he will forever be remember for his lack of sportsmanship and as a cheater when he could have been remembered only as the great player the other half of him was.

Who cares. Match fixing, performance enchancing drugs and international betting agencies, have ensured that football has as much entertainment value, as professional wrestling.

I don't watch football anymore because of the diving and ref manhandling. But the most important reason is the number of drawn matches ending in 0-0. Why don't they bring in a scoring system that promote the scoring of goals. For example if a team score 4 goals it gets an bonus point, if teams draw they only get 1 point instead of 2. This has been done in rugby union and its increased the number of tries scored, the same can be done in football. As for diving a rule must be brought in that can enable a panel to look at the video after the game and can suspend players that took dives or manhandled refs.

Yes, now do something about the pathetic "diving", and the abuse and manhandling of referees. Some of the manhandling of referees that goes on even at the most senior levels would, if it occurred on the street, be regarded as assault. Rugby Union & Rugby League got rid of this cowardly behaviour decades ago, so can soccer.
