Thai students win gold, silver at Chemistry Olympiad

Four Thai high school students won two gold medals and two silver at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Monday.

Pornpun Waitayangkoon, president of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology, said the four medal winners are from Triam Udom Suksa School. They were among 264 contestants from 67 countries in the competition which ran July 23 to Aug 1.

The gold medals went to Weerapat Yos-amornsoonthorn and Ruangrawee Kitichotkul and silver medals to Siradanai Rimsakhon and Apisara Kaweeyanant.

The delegation is due back at Suvarnabhumi airport at 2pm on Tuesday.
